In 2008, Johnston-Vermette acquired the consulting engineering group OPTEC Energy-Services Inc., a firm specialised in management services and studies relating to operational and technical requirements of companies in the energy sector, industrial corporations as well as government and institutional organisations.
OPTEC works principally in Canada and in Africa. On the African continent, Johnston-Vermette’s employees have acquired experience over the past twenty years, in Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Congo, Liberia and Madagascar.
Projects have been accomplished in the fields of compressed natural gas, biogas, port facilities and petroleum terminals, the organisation and start-up of a national energy board, and the privatisation of national industries.
We maintain excellent contacts in Africa, and we favour carrying out assignments in cooperation with local experts.
Johnston-Vermette’s experience in international projects is based on the achievements of the OPTEC group, which joined us in 2008. OPTEC is specialised in management services and studies aimed at the engineering and operational needs of the energy sector for industrial and institutional enterprises.
