Johnston-Vermette gained a wealth of experience through the merger with Opti-Conseil. This firm with offices in Bécancour (QC) had been active in the pulp and paper field for 20 years, and had developed its expertise mainly in the process and mechanical disciplines. Since joining with Johnston-Vermette, these abilities have been supported by the electrical, instrumentation and control, and structural teams of the company.

The group has been much in demand in recent years for process improvement as well as energy efficiency modifications to existing plants.
