Johnston-Vermette is ISO 9001:2008 certified, and offers services that are controlled according to quality management principles. The original certification dates from 1996. In 2010, the firm achieved its qualification according to the quality code N286-05 for the nuclear field.
Johnston-Vermette’s quality team has built and constantly maintains a quality management system which is fully compliant with the above-mentioned standard and ensures that both "quality" and "satisfaction" parameters are properly quantified. The system includes supervision processes that encompass all execution phases of any given project.
An exact definition of the client's expectations is mandatory for a successful project: clearly circumscribed and fully quantifiable objectives are easy to implement, follow-up of all execution phases is easy to demonstrate and, in the end, all the objectives are really met.
Throughout the project, dialog with the client is continuous: from the start-up meeting up to the delivery of construction drawings and specifications, including the important design review and verification phases. Johnston-Vermette’s team that is assigned to the project and the client's representatives virtually creates a single team that shares the same vision and works together to attain the same objective.
Moreover, Johnston-Vermette’s quality team continuously ensures that the quality system fully controls projects but does not hamper production and business activities. The time percentage devoted to quality management is therefore minimized, no matter the size of the project.
All Johnston-Vermette employees are trained on these procedures as soon as they are hired and actively participate in internal audits: peers counter-check each other throughout all the phases of a project so that, as a team, quality requirements are met. External audits are conducted by representatives of the Bureau de normalisation du Québec (Quebec Standardization Bureau).
Johnston-Vermette has received three quality mentions within the context of a contest organized by the Mouvement québécois de la qualité (Quebec Quality Movement).
